Colt Single Action Army revolver. Frame made 1884, with an early made trigger guard and butt (serial 64231, being made 1881). Round, steel barrel marked "COLT'S PT. F. A. MFG Co./HARTFORD. CT. U.S.A." on the top. Standard patent dates on the left side of the frame. ".45 CAL" marked on the left side of the trigger guard. Later added blade front sight with v-notch cut out rear. Blued barrel and cylinder with a case hardened frame. Walnut grips. CONDITION: Metal retains little to none of its original finish with scratches, wear and gray patina. Grips are very good with handling marks and dents. Lightly frosted bore with good overall rifling. Tight hammer and cylinder. Mechanically fine. JWA
