Persian M49 Mauser bolt action carbine. Made late 1940's in Persia (now Iran) under Czech guidance. Sharp Persian crest on top of the chamber. No import mark found. Matching Farsi serials on the chamber and bolt. Stock has been sanded, erasing the serial number found under the sling port. Typical blade from sight with rear sight adjustable to 2000 meters. Original blued finish with the bolt left in the white (this is correct). Hard wood stock, that again has been sanded and refinished with a light stain. Smooth metal butt plate. Cleaning rod is present. CONDITION: Metal retains 98% or more of its original finish with a few scattered handling marks. Wood is excellent with little signs of use, minus a small crack on the hand guard in front of the rear sight. Shiny bore with sharp rifling. Mechanically fine. JWA
