Lot consist of: (A) Marlin Model 39-A tube feed lever action rifle. Made 1945. Round steel barrel with blade front sight and "buckhorn" leaf rear. Original blued finish on the metal components. Linseed oiled wood stocks. Of note, this rifle lacks sling studs. Serrated plastic butt plate. CONDITION: Metal retains 85% of its original finish with a few areas of light wear and scratches. Wood has some minor handling marks. Bore is shiny with crisp rifling. Mechanically fine. (B) Marlin Model 1936 lever action rifle. This is a first variation rifle made circa 1936. Barrel marked "The Marlin Firearms Corporation/NEW HAVEN CONN. U.S.A. PATENTED" in front of the rear band. "SPECIAL SMOKELESS STEEL" marked on the left side of the barrel. Top of the frame is marked "MARLIN SAFETY". Tang is marked "Marlin/MODEL 1936". Round, blued steel barrel with blade front sight and "buckhorn" rear leaf sight. Frame and lever originally being case colored has worn to a gray patina. Lacquered wood stocks with a hard rubber butt plate. Sling stud on the butt only. CONDITION: Metal retains 60% of its original finish, with a gray patina covering most areas. Wood has minor handling wear and scratches. Bore is clean overall with very good rifling. Mechanically fine. JWA
