Lot consists of (A) Marlin Model 1898 takedown slide action shotgun. Made circa 1903. Barrel is marked "MARLIN FIRE-ARMS Co. NEW-HAVEN. CT. U.S.A./PAT'D NOV. 6 1894. MAY 12. 1896 & JUNE 2. 1896". Serials on the frame and barrel do not match, being typical. Round steel barrel with bead front sight. Light blued finish throughout. Oil finished wood stocks with a serrated hard rubber butt plate. Butt plate is marked "MARLIN" in script on the bottom. Full choke bore with a 2 - 3/4" chamber. CONDITION: Metal retains 75% of its original finish with light handling marks and scratches. Wood has handling marks, scratches and dents. Bore is shiny. (B) Ithaca Model 37 slide action shotgun. Made 1951. Matching serial numbers on the frame and barrel. Round, steel barrel with a bead front sight. Typical engraving scenes on both sides of the frame. Factory blued finish on the metal components. Wood stocks with ribbed forearm and checkering on the wrist. Plastic serrated butt plate. Modified choke bore with a 2 - 3/4" chamber. CONDITION: Metal retains 80% of its original finish with light wear and scratches. Wood has minor handling marks and scratches. Bore is shiny. Mechanically fine. JWA
