1872 vintage Colt Model 1860 Army revolver, serial number 198001. 8" barrel, chambered in .44 caliber. Blue with case hardened frame, loading lever, and hammer. Brass trigger guard. 1 piece varnished walnut grips. Rebated cylinder. Matching serial numbers on barrel, frame, trigger guard, backstrap, and cylinder. Housed in a correct partition fitted walnut case complete with powder flask, 2 cavity blued steel bullet mold, and cap tin marked "ELEY BROS.". CONDITION: Excellent with 80+% bright original blue on barrel. Frame shows 20-30% bright case colors. Cylinder has strong W.M. Ormsby roll-die "Naval Battle Scene", with traces of original blue, mostly a dove grey patina. Lovely grips with 75-80% original varnish showing modest wear with minor dents and scraps. Strong bore with minor abrasions, and fine rifling. Action is tight and crisp. Walnut case is excellent showing modest wear and light staining to the burgundy interior. Accessories are excellent. Overall a most attractive cased set with condition -MKS-
