Formed in 1853 as "G.H.Fox Co.". In 1870 it became the "American Arms Company" with George Fox as principle stock holder. This unique gun operates with a swing out barrel controlled by a sliding thumb operated button on the tang. Damascus steel barrels with a smooth rib marked "AMERICAN ARMS CO. BOSTON". Bead front sight with extractors. Case hardened scroll engraved frame with exposed hammers and double triggers. Frame also has dog and game scene fine engraving. Walnut checkered round knob pistol grip stock with smooth steel buttplate. Walnut attached splinter forearm. Neat seldom seen gun. CONDITION: 60% original Damascus scene with some small dents in left barrel. Action has been cleaned to a silvery patina. Wood has been cleaned with checkering recut. Nice looking gun with shootable bores and good mechanics. DLM
