Colt Model 1878 exposed hammer side by side shotgun made by Colt Firearms, Hartford, Connecticut in 1888. Twist Damascus steel barrels with smooth concave rib and bead front sight. Gun has double triggers and extractors. Case hardened action with locks marked "COLT'S Pt F.A. Mfg. Co.". All matching serial numbers. Walnut checkered round knob pistol grip stock with smooth steel buttplate with walnut checkered splinter forearm with ebony inlay and latch release. CONDITION: Metal fading to a silvery patina with traces of original barrel finish. Wood retains traces of original finish with checkering worn flat. Ebony inlay has glue coming out around edges. Shootable bores with crisp mechanics. Nice well taken care of but used gun. DLM
