India Pattern "Brown Bess" made by "WOOLLEY SARGANT & FAIRFAX" circa 1826. Round smoothbore barrel with blade front sight that doubles as a lug for socket bayonet. Barrel has Birmingham proofs and "WS" marks. Lock is original flint marked with "Woolley Sargant & Fairfax" and controlled by a single trigger. Walnut full military stock with brass furniture including "India" style sideplate and ramrod pipes. Comes with steel ramrod. CONDITION: Metal parts have turned a dark brown patina with some light surface pitting. Wood has dark surface with possible addition of finish long ago. Various usage marks and dings. Dark pitted bore with functioning mechanics. DLM
