Chinese marked Mauser C-96 Broomhandle semi-automatic pistol. 1930s commercial model made circa 1933 in Germany and exported to China. Marked "WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER/OBERNDORF A. NECKAR/D.R.P.u.A.P." on the right side of the frame, with the Mauser banner on the left. Chinese characters on the bottom left of the magazine well, and hand stippled on the right side of the slide, near the chamber. Chinese character on the back of the hammer as well. Import marked on the bottom of the trigger guard. Only visible serial number is on the slide. Commercial German proof with "WAFFENFABRIK /MAUSER/OBERNDORF/N" marked on the chamber. Tangent rear sight with adjustments to 1000 meters. Stepped barrel with blade front sight. Original blued finish has turned to a patina. Serrated wood grips. Lanyard ring is absent, stud present. CONDITION: Metal retains 50% of its original finish with general wear and patina. Area under the grips has been exposed to moisture and is pitted, Grips are fair with wear and scratches. Bore is frosted with some light pitting and worn rifling. Safety appears to be malfunctioning. JWA
