A truly excellent example of a Tiffany Studios pansy leaded glass lamp. The 16” shade consists of beautiful multi-colored pansies set against a geometric background. The pansies have deeply mottled glass throughout, with yellows, whites, oranges and rich purples rounding out the flowers. The pansies are laid again a geometric background of green-streaked white near the aperture that progresses to deeper greens moving towards the rim. The leading is finished in a red-brown patina with touches of verdigris. The shade is in excellent condition with just a small number of tight and stable heat cracks. Shade is signed "Tiffany Studios New York". The shade sits on a wonderful Tiffany Studios internally illuminated, “Crutch Oval” base with turtleback band. The base is finished in a deep brown patina and features a band of turtleback tiles that appear iridescent in reflected light, and green in transmitted light. The base retains its original three-socket cluster with GECO paddles while the internal socket has been replaced. The base stands 21 - 1/2” to the top of the shade rest. It is in very good condition with some mild to moderate loss to the original finish. Base is signed "Tiffany Studios New York S223 446" and includes the logo of the firm. The heat cap appears to be original.
