These were Bill Scagel's original knife making files that Dr. Jim Lucie acquired directly from him at his shop. Scagel placed all of the antler stag-handles on himself. The 16 files range in size from large course 18" files to small fine 7-1/4" files. One has a driftwood handle and all others are antler, many with crotch handles or curved antler handles. Some show more use, wear and patina than others. An important group of tools from the shop of a world-renowned knife maker. The two smallest files appear to be more contemporary and may be associated. PROVENANCE: From the estate of Dr. James R. Lucie.
