Lot consists of: (A) 1901 printing of "The Art of Revolver Shooting" by Walter Winans, a noted exhibition shooter from the turn of the century. Leather bound with and stamped in front cover with a ship and "Ex-Libris / Henry Arthur Johnstone 1899". Given the printing date of 1901, this is likely a date from when Mr. Johnstone started collecting books. CONDITION: Very good with some normal age related rubbing and chipping. (B) Blue bound copy of La Manufacture D'Armes de Versailles, An II - 1818, Boutet Directeur-Artiste. Sticker on inside of front cover indicating that this copy was once in the Arms and Armor Department of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Written by Capitaine Maurice Bottet, edited by J. Leroy Fils, published 1903, Rue Du Faubourg-Poissonniere, Paris. Written in French with several depictions of both the facility and several pieces produced at Versailles. Indispensable to French collectors. CONDITION: Very good, all pages appear present, with some normal chipping and age related marks. (C) Second paperback copy of La Manufacture D'Armes de Versailles, An II - 1818, Boutet Directeur-Artiste. Written by Capitaine Maurice Bottet, edited by J. Leroy Fils, published 1903, Rue Du Faubourg-Poissonniere, Paris. One of the very rare limited 25 piece run of paperbacks. Written in French with several depictions of both the facility and several pieces produced at Versailles. Indispensable to French collectors. CONDITION: Fair to good. All pages appear present but binding has disintegrated long ago, with only a few threads holding about half of the pages. Exercise extreme caution. PROVENANCE: Dr. Gerald Klaz collection. EW
