Reproduction 1841 Bronze Naval "12 Pounder" cannon with installed steel rifled liner with 3" bore on naval carriage produced by Trailrock Ordnance. The US Model 1841 12 pounder cannon was replaced in 1857 by the "Napoleon" cannons due to the extreme weight of this model of cannon, but continued to see some limited action in the American Civil War. Exact date of manufacture or manufacturer are unknown. Right side of cannon marked "JRA" / "&" / "Co." with left side marked "1861." Muzzle marked with serial number 1194. Naval carriage is made of wood with bronze elevation adjustment screw. Comes with one "worm" on long wooden staff as well as crate of 13 lead 3" sabot projectiles. Approximate dimensions of cannon on carriage are 72" x 16" x 26". Cannon is extremely heavy. CONDITION: Very good with majority of barrel polished bright with areas of heavy pitting throughout. Carriage is excellent with no major signs of distress but could use a good cleaning. Bore is dark with moderate to heavy rust and pitting throughout and crisp rifling. A great reproduction US Model 1841 bronze Naval cannon ready for display or firing. -TN-
