Mauser Model byf 44 model p.38 semi automatic pistol with holster. 2 line "byf/44" code made 1944 at the Mauser factory. "(Eagle) / WaA135" proofs on the frame, slide, and barrel. No import mark. Matching serials on the frame, slide, barrel, and barrel block. Mid war polished frame and barrel, with a rough blued frame. Brown plastic, serrated grips. Includes one blued steel eight round magazine marked "P.38" on the left side. Also include is a "1943" dated, "P.38" marked leather hard shell leather holster. Carl Weiss made, "C.W.W." marked on the back with an illegible Waffenamt. CONDITION: Metal retains 85% of its original finish with very light edge wear and handling marks. Grips are very good overall. There is a hole on the left panel right below the back strap. Bore has crisp rifling, with a very light frosting. Magazine has light wear. Mechanically fine. Holster has repair stitching under the magazine pouch, in addition to a covered hole in the rear. Some light crazing and wear as well. JWA
