Lot consists of: A) U.S. Model 1816 Flintlock musket made at Harper's Ferry in 1816. Round smoothbore .69 caliber barrel with bead front sight and "P" "Eagle" proofs at breech. Beveled flat lock marked "Harper's Ferry 1816" at rear and "Eagle" in front of cock on flint lock. Walnut full stock with 1
barrel band and 1 piece iron trigger guard. Comes with wooden ramrod. CONDITION: Gun is a period compilation of parts and has been restocked in the period. Dark bore and good mechanics. (B) Civil War period Prussian 1809 pattern musket converted to percussion and like ones issued to Union troops in the American Civil War. In the white finished rifled round barrel with band front blade sight(numbered 190) and interesting rear flip sight numbered to the gun(190). Barrel marked "1832" on left rear flat along with brass buttplate also marked "1832". Percussion lock converted from flint marked "Potsdam" with single trigger control. Hardwood full military stock with dished cheekpiece numbered "190" with "Crown" proofs on left rear buttstock and behind tang of trigger guard. Stock has brass furniture with "Crown" markings including 3 barrel bands, sideplate and buttplate. "L. CUTT" scratched in front of sideplate. Comes with correct triangular socket bayonet. Interesting gun. CONDITION: Overall good with metal turning a silvery patina. Small vise marks around breech with some wood loss around tang. Wood has age appearance with heavy usage marks and dings. Brass has been cleaned to a golden aged patina. Dark bore with visible rifling and good mechanics. Missing sling swivels. DLM
