Circa 2016. A very fine pair of 20 bore side by sides with beautifully blacked 30" chopper lump barrels. Built by David Sinnerton, a former Purdey finisher and one of the best known private U.K. gunmakers. The guns barrels feature the "Holland & Holland" styled self opening system. Barrels have smooth narrow/tapered concave game ribs with their appropriate numbers "1" and "2" in gold on top of floral scroll near breech and with small brass front bead sights. Ribs read "D.H. SINNERTON, LONDON, ENGLAND". The chamber lengths are 2 -3/4". Chokes are Improved Modified and Improved Modified on the pair of guns. Barrels also with London proofs and guns serial numbers on all tubes. Deluxe Turkish walnut stock with very smoky and marbled flow, English straight grip, fine point closely separated checkering, traditional drop points behind Holland & Holland styled side locks, gold oval with fancy cursive engraved "CMC", finished to a fine checkered butt. Coin finished sidelock ejector actions are exquisitely engraved with fruiting grape vines and leaves with "D.H. SINNERTON" in banner. Engravers signature of Peter Cusack sits just at top left of trigger guard bow. Trigger guard with rolled right hand edge, long bottom strap also equally beautifully engraved and serial numbers in gold. Actions are built with case colored double triggers, auto safes "SAFE" in gold. Forend with sharp checkering, Anson style push release with gold "1" and "2" on engraved escutcheon and serial numbers stamped on interior iron metal. Pair comes in a makers double oak and leather case with canvas outer which is fitted with a "D.H.SINNERTON" leather case label, ebony and brass snap caps, cleaning rod, nickel plated oil bottle and cleaning tools.
