Lot consists of (A) M98/48 bolt action rifle manufactured by Zastava in Czechoslovakia. "KETT" import stamp present on the left side of the barrel. These rifles were refurbished from K98 rifles that were either leftover or captured from the Germans after World War II. Receiver, bolt, and stock are force matched. The receiver is stamped with the Yugoslavian crest over the chamber, with "PREDUZECE 44" on the left. The barrel is stamped with a German eagle over "N" nitro proof stamp, followed by the West German Cologne insignia and "86", indicating that this rifle some how made it's way back into German possession. CONDITION: Metal components retain the vast majority of their reapplied blue finish, exhibiting little wear aside from oxidation on the buttplate. Bright bore, showing strong rifling throughout. Stock is good as refinished, showing small scattered handling marks as well as some minor wear to the varnish. (B) Model 24/30 short rifle manufactured in 1938 by FN. Navy Arms import stamp on right side of receiver. Receiver is marked with the "FN" monogram over "1938", as well as with Belgian proofs on the left side. Stock has been cut for a bolt recess to enable use of turned down bolt handles. Bolt is not present. CONDITION: Metal components retain fair amounts of their reapplied blue finish, exhibiting wear and light surface oxidation all around. Dark bore with poor rifling throughout. Stock shows some chipping, minor repairs, and handling marks. -MLW-
