K98 rifle manufactured at the Waffen-Werke Bruenn factory in Bystrica, Czechoslovakia in 1944. Inter Ordnance import stamp on underside of barrel. Receiver is stamped "dou/44" over the chamber with "Mod. 98" on the left receiver wall. German waffenamts have been scrubbed. Matching numbers include the barrel, barrel bands, rear sight ladder, floorplate, handguard, and stock. Bolt is mismatched and buttplate is unmarked. This K98 is comprised of late war parts, as evident by the unfinished laminated stock, stamped and welded barrel bands, stamped trigger guard, and cupped buttplate. Rifle appears to be arsenal refurbished. Complete with a reproduction K98 leather sling. Metal components retain the majority of their arsenal reapplied blue finish, exhibiting wear and thinning all around, that shows through to a pleasing brown patina. Wear is most prevalent on either side of the rear sight base and on the barrel bands. Bore is dark, but exhibits strong rifling throughout. Stock exhibits some wear all around, with some small areas with minor losses. A nice example of a late World War II production K98 rifle. -MLW-
