Rare C. Sharps & Co. of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania made first model second issue "Pistol Rifle" made in the 1850's with less than 600 manufactured. Serial numbered on tang "442". Gun takes paper cartridge. Gun features a blued round rifled barrel with dovetail blade front sight and rear elevator type sight. Case hardened pellet primed percussion small frame action marked "C. Sharps & Co. Philada, Pa." on left side. Lever action with plain trigger. Walnut pistol grip plain stock with steel grip cap and steel crescent buttplate and oval brass patchbox. Walnut forestock with brass forend cap. Super rare rifle and hard to find. CONDITION: Barrel has turned a pleasing plum patina with light surface blemishing. Action case colors have faded to a plum color with some additional added old oil that has glazed over the finish. Wood has dark aged look with some old oil that has a crazed over appearance. Small hairline crack behind right side of action. Excellent bore with visible rifling. Strong crisp action that functions well. A great rifle. DLM
