1902 vintage Colt Single Action Army revolver, serial number 234897. 4 - 3/4" round barrel chambered in .45 Colt with standard SAA front sight with notched rear. 2 piece checkered gutta percha grips with Rampant Colts on either side. Matching serial numbers on backstrap, trigger guard, and frame. Marked with 2 line Colt Hartford, CT address on top of barrel with ".45 COLT" left side. Accompanying this lot is a factory letter confirming serial number, barrel length, caliber, and finish. Part of a 15 gun shipment to Simmons Hardware Co. in St. Louis, MO November 14, 1902. CONDITION: Very good with almost all of the original bluing and case hardening turned to a dove gray patina with traces of bluing and case hardening in protected areas. Moderate to heavy handling marks and pitting throughout. Grips show moderate wear but are strong with no visible cracks or repairs. Action works correctly and is tight. Bore is frosted with visible rifling. -TN-
