1917 vintage Colt Frontier Six Shooter single action revolver, serial number 336648.7 - 1/2" round barrel chambered in .44-40 Winchester Center Fire with standard SAA front sight and notched rear. Single line Colt Hartford, CT barrel address with "COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER .44-40" marking on left of barrel. Matching serial numbers at backstrap, trigger guard, and frame. "R.F. ENEWOLD" / "OMAHA, NEB." / "4"/"30"/"44." marking at trigger guard underneath grips on left side. 2 piece checkered gutta percha grips with Rampant Colt on either side. CONDITION: Very good, with barrel retaining most of its original bluing with the balance turning to a gray-brown patina with light pitting and handling marks. Frame retains brilliant case colors in protected areas with modest wear throughout and scattered heavy pitting on loading gate. 2 piece gutta percha grips are very good with checkering slightly worn but Rampant Colt still easily visible and no sign of cracks or repairs. Action works correctly and locks tightly. Bore is bright with worn but visible rifling. -TN-
