Nickel plated Smith & Wesson No.3, First Model Schofield. 5" (period modification) fluted rib barrel, chambered in .45 S&W Schofield cartridge. Full radius front blade sight. Frame mounted Schofield style barrel latch. Case hardened hammer. 2 piece walnut grips. Right panel has a faint U.S. Inspection cartouche. Butt of backstrap marked "U.S." at the toe. Sub-inspection mark "L" found on rear face of cylinder. Sub-inspection marks "L" & "P" found on bottom of the barrel lug. Right side of barrel lug is also marked: "W.F. & CO. EX." along with serial number "2848". CONDITION: Fine with approximately 85% period reapplied nickel remaining. Bore is excellent. Action is tight. Grips show moderate wear. -MKS-
