Winchester Second Model 1876 lever action full magazine rifle built in 1882. Blued special order half round half octagon barrel with special order front ivory blade front sight and folding express rear sight marked with Winchester address and "King's Improvement" in front of rear sight and caliber marking at rear near breech. Madis says 1 in 91 has a special barrel and 1 in 798 has special order sights. Case hardened Second Model frame with 2 screw dust cover rail. Walnut plain stock with steel compartment buttplate. Walnut plain forearm. CONDITION: Metal surfaces have worn to a silvery patina with some light surface freckling. Wood has cleaned appearance with usage marks and dings. Gun has dark bore with visible rifling. Gun cycles by hand fine with lever spring needing adjustment. DLM
