1891 vintage Winchester Model 1886 Rifle, serial number 54396. 26" round barrel with full length magazine tube. Chambered in .40-82 WCF. Rifle style crescent buttplate. Blue with case hardened frame, lever, forearm cap, and buttplate. Nicely figured straight grip walnut stock and forearm. CONDITION: Very fine overall. Barrel has approximately 75% original blue blending with brown patina. Magazine tube is mostly brown patina with areas of original blue. Balance is a grey patina with traces of original case color. Wood is sound showing modest wear. Bore is near excellent with areas of abrasion. Action is tight and crisp. -MKS-
