First successful slide action shotgun in the United States invented by Christopher Spencer and manufactured by the Spencer Arms Co. Windsor, Connecticut between 1882 and 1889. Damascus steel barrel with bead front sight marked on top with "Spencer Arms Co. Windsor, Ct. U.S.A. Pat Apr 1882". Case hardened hammerless frame with two trigger mechanism with one being a cocking mechanism. Damascus tube mechanism with walnut checkered slide handle. Walnut round knob plain buttstock with bakelite buttplate. CONDITION: 60% original Damascus scene remaining with balance of metal parts turning a silvery patina. Wood has oil soaked appearance with usage marks and dings with checkering worn flat. Dark shootable bore with good mechanics. Good gun usually not found in this good of condition. DLM
