Manufactured 1915. Half moon front sight, bevelled flat top U notch rear sight. Left side of slide with 2 line 2 block patent and address information. right side with "MODEL OF 1911. U.S. ARMY" in serif fonts. Pony at rear. "H" stamped vertically at top of firing pin retaining plate channel barrel with "P H" stamped perpendicular to bore, left side of lug with "J" parallel to bore. Left side of dust cover with "UNITED STATES PROPERTY", right side with serial number. Left side of frame with Gilbert H. Stewart inspector stamp. Top of bridle with "H R" sub inspector marks near disconnector hole. Checkered slide release with relief mill cut, checkered magazine release, long milled smooth trigger, checkered safety, spurred checkered hammer, short 1911 grip safety, smooth flat mainspring housing with lanyard loop. Magazine release reverse with convex screw slot. Truncated diamond walnut grips. 2 tone magazine with dual pinned base and lanyard loop. CONDITION: Fine, retaining the vast majority of the Colt blue with a few spots of old age related patina, primarily towards muzzle. Some light losses at high edges consistent with holster wear. Straps are essentially patina. A few minor handle marks throughout, and two scratches through the left side address block. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is very good with strong rifling and some minor spots of abrasion. Magazine has acquired a soft brown spotting over the entirety of the magazine but is otherwise very good. EW
