Mauser C-96 Broomhandle "Red 9" semi automatic pistol. Prussian contract made circa 1916. Commercial "(Crown) / U" proof on the left side of the frame with a military proof on the right. Right side of the frame is marked "WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER/OBERNDORF A NECKAR", while the top of the chamber is marked "WAFENFABRIK/MAUSER/OBERNDORF A/N". No import mark found. All visible serial numbers are matching. Round barrel with blade front sight and tangent rear adjustable to 500 meters. Original straw blue finish with fire blue on the trigger, extractor, safety and sight ladder. Back strap is slotted for a shoulder stock. Lanyard stud and ring are present. 30 line wood grips with large red "9" carved on each panel. CONDITION: Metal retains 80% of its original finish with light wear. Grips are excellent. Bore is lightly frosted with sharp rifling. Mechanically excellent. JWA
