Manufactured in 1932, this Colt Detective Special revolver features all blue finish, with a 2" barrel chambered in .38 Special. Half-moon blade front sight with notched rear sights. Checkered trigger with stippled top strap. Mounted with Colt 2 piece checkered walnut silver medallion grips. Grips are not numbered, but appear to be matching to the gun. Left side of barrel is marked "38 Detective/Special", with the right side bearing Colt's 2 line address. The left side of the frame bears the Rampant Colt logo. Complete with a non-matching, but proper Colt factory cardboard box containing a paper sleeve, Colt "Handling the Handgun" and "Shooting Suggestions" pamphlets, and a Colt factory paper test target, test fired by E.P. Kiely, that is matching to the box. CONDITION: Metal components retain the vast majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting some small scattered areas of minor wear and some light freckling and pitting all around. Cylinder bears a light drag line. Mirror bore, with well defined lands and grooves throughout. Checkered walnut grips exhibit some smoothing and minor losses to the checkering, with few scattered handling marks. A nice example of a Pre-War Colt Detective Special snub nose revolver. -MLW.
