Manufactured in 1914, this Colt New Service revolver features blue finish and is mounted with 2 piece Colt hard rubber grips. This revolver is unique in that it is marked "R.N.W.M.P 1.0.8.4" on the backstrap, with "MP" on the frame, under the left grip panel and on the butt, indicating that this revolver was issued to the Royal North West Mounted Police, precursors to the current day Royal Canadian Mounted Police. The 6" barrel features a fixed serrated blade front sight, with notched rear sights on the frame. Layard swivel present on the butt. This example has been converted to fire .357 Magnum ammunition, which was accomplished by swapping out the barrel and replacing the cylinder and cylinder crane. The left side of the barrel is stamped "COLT NEW SERVICE .357" with a single line Colt address across the right side. The left side of the frame is stamped with the Rampant Colt logo. CONDITION: Metal components retain traces of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting heavy wear and thinning all around, showing through to patina. Cylinder bares a few areas of oxidation. Mirror bore, with good rifling throughout. 2 piece hard rubber grips exhibit areas of wear, with some scattered losses and a crack on the bottom of the right grip panel. A unique Colt New Service revolver. -MLW-
