A rare French Art Deco ceramic and enameled jungle bird vase designed by Maurice Paul Chvallier for Faiences de Longwy, decorated in a crackle glaze of vibrant colors and gilt, with a frieze of exotic foliage, dragonflies and a jungle bird in various stages of flight. The vase is signed "M. P. Chevallier" and further marked "Of 50 Examples this is N. 2". This design is also known as "Boule Jungle Bird" and was featured at i'Exposition Coloniale de Paris in 1931. c. 1931. 15 - 1/4" height by 14" diameter.
