Manufactured in 1930, this Colt New Service revolver features all blue finish and is mounted with 2 piece checkered walnut Colt silver medallion grips. The 7 - 1/2" barrel features a fixed blade front sight and notched rear sight, with a serrated top strap. Trigger and hammer are checkered. Lanyard loop is present. The left side of the barrel is marked "NEW SERVICE 44-40" with Colt's 2 line address across the top. The left side of the frame is marked with the Rampant Colt logo. CONDITION: Metal components retain most of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting some areas of wear and thinning, as well as edge wear along the frame and cylinder. Front and rear grip straps retain traces of their original factory blue finish, with the balance turning a gray patina. Mirror bore, with well defined lands and grooves throughout. Checkered wood grips show some smoothing to the checkering, as well as some handling and storage marks. -MLW-
