Jacob Franklin Gehrett worked in Orbisonia, Huntingdon County Pennsylvania from circa 1850 to 1900. Gun has 1 - 1/8" wide full octagon rifled barrel with German silver sheared blade front sight with notched rear fixed sight stamped "J.F. GEHRETT". "Leman Lancstr. PA." marked percussion lock controlled by double set trigger (front being lathe turned). Full curly maple stock with brass furniture including Huntingdon style stepped buttplate and an engraved oval capbox. Gun has 3 coin silver inlays with two teardrops on each side of wrist and "Hunter's Star" on cheekpiece. CONDITION: Overall good with aged patina on metal parts. Wood has been cleaned with original black piano finish removed and a light coat of oil applied. Shootable bore with hammer not holding cock. DLM
