Edwin Wesson made percussion target single shot action rebarreled by Samuel C. Kingman of Bridgeport, Connecticut circa 1860. Blued full octagon rifled barrel with false muzzle and brass bullet starter. Brass globe front sight with graduated rear flip sight marked "R.S. Lawrence Patented Feb. 15th 1859". Case hardened engraved patent breech percussion action marked "Wesson" controlled by double set triggers. Tang Vernier peep sight with no markings. Figured walnut buttstock with nickel plated engraved furniture including an oval capbox with a Dog's head engraved on lid, crescent buttplate and silver inlay on cheek with running deer engraved on it. Buttplate is engraved on top and has hole for sight placement when in the relaxed position on your back. CONDITION: 80% fading blue with some light freckling. Action fading to a silvery patina. Nickel plated parts remain sharp with some freckling. Wood has original varnish with handling marks and dings. Good bore with good mechanics. DLM
