Half stock percussion target rifle built by E.K. Tryon, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania circa 1850. Full octagon barrel turned for a false muzzle with adjustable protected blade front sight and rear adjustable notch sight with "TRYON" stamped on barrel flat and large eyepiece rear adjustable tang sight. Patent breech percussion ignition system with engraved "Henry Parker Warranted" back action lock controlled by double set triggers. Walnut checkered wrist half stock with pronounced cheekpiece with a mixture of brass, German silver, and iron furniture. Iron 4 piece engraved patchbox with Philadelphia style pineapple finial with release in engraved brass toeplate. Gun is pictured on Page 100 of Edith G. Cooper's Book "The Kentucky Rifle and Me". Comes with hardwood ramrod, brass bullet starter, and accessories in wood box. CONDITION: Overall good with metal turning a silvery brown patina along with patchbox. Wood has 80% of original dark finish with usage marks and dings. Missing forward ramrod pipe. Excellent shootable bore with good mechanics. DLM
