Percussion half stock target rifle made by Nelson Lewis of Troy, New York circa 1843 to 1888. Full rifled octagon barrel with dovetail for front sight and several dovetails at rear for sight placement and scope placement (sights missing). Barrel is 1 -1/4" across muzzle flats and is stamped "Nelson Lewis" and has a 1/2" x 22" brass unmarked scope mounted in sight dovetails Barrel has patent breech with 2 precious metal bands. Scroll engraved unmarked back action lock controlled by double set triggers. Walnut fine checkered half stock with German silver furniture. Comes with brass tipped hardwood ramrod. CONDITION: Metal parts turning a silvery patina with some light surface pitting. German silver has a dirty tarnished look to it. Wood has added old oil finish with handling marks and dings. Stock has a hairline crack in front of lock. Scope is foggy with broken crosshair. Good shootable bore with good mechanics. DLM
