Kentucky style percussion target rifle signed "D.B." in script for David Boyer of Orwigsburg, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania circa 1850. Full octagon rifled barrel measuring 1 -1/4" across muzzle flats with modern Redfield style globe front sight with several plugged dovetails and a rear gunsmith made extended sight with a modern peep sight fitted to it. "Riddle" percussion lock controlled by double set triggers. Curly maple full stock with Boyer "Roman nose" architecture, brass furniture, and flared muzzle wood to accommodate a bench type cross rest. CONDITION: Overall fair with metal parts showing some surface rust and pitting. Wood has old applied finish with several cracks around lock and barrel pins (all seem solid). Dark bore with visible rifling and slow but functioning mechanics. DLM
