Massive percussion heavy target rifle made by W. W. Wetmore of Lebanon, New Hampshire circa 1870. Gun weighs over 25lbs! Full blued octagon barrel measuring 1 -3/4" across muzzle flats with false muzzle and brass bullet starter. Barrel has globe front sight and gunsmith made rear peep sight with "W.W. Wetmore Lebanon, NH" stamped on left barrel flat. Barrel has holes drilled on underside near muzzle for installation of a rest and is numbered "274" near breech. Large patent breech percussion ignition system with unmarked back action lock with single set trigger control. Walnut buttstock with iron furniture including an iron double loop trigger guard. CONDITION: Blued parts are fading to a brown patina with lock and breech fading to a gray patina. Wood has traces of original finish with area of missing wood near toe and usage dings and scratches. Iron stock parts are fading to a brown patina with some light surface corrosion. Very shootable bore with visible lands and grooves. Functioning mechanics with set trigger out of adjustment. DLM
