Lot consists of (A) Type 14 manufactured at Tokyo Arsenal in December of 1929. Small variation trigger guard, with a grooved cocking knob, and grooved two piece wood grips. Matching numbers include the frame, trigger guard, barrel & barrel extension, cocking knob, locking block, magazine catch, and two piece grooved grips. Bolt and magazine do not match. CONDITION: Metal components retain fair amounts of their original blue finish, exhibiting wear and thinning showing through to brown patina. Grip straps have worn to a gray patina, and show some scattered pitting. Arsenal stampings are sharp. Bore is lightly frosted and retains good rifling throughout. Wood grips show some wear and some minor nicks, as well as a dragline from the safety lever. (B) Type 94 manufactured at the Chuo Kogyo Arsenal in December of 1944. "Squareback" cocking knob with slab two piece wood grips. Matching numbers include the frame, slide, cocking knob/bolt, locking block, extractor, barrel, and magazine. Grips retain old white paint on their exteriors. CONDITION: Metal components retain good amounts of their original blue finish, exhibiting wear and thinning all around. Grip straps, trigger guard, and bottom of frame have worn and retain a gray and patina. Bright bore with good rifling throughout. Grips are good, showing aging and some wear to their paint. A nice collector's lot of Japanese military pistols. -MLW-
