A beautiful example of a leaded glass bamboo lamp by Tiffany Studios. The 16” diameter shade features a bamboo motif with foliage comprised of mottled, stippled, and streaked green glass, while the branches are in lovely tones of orange, brown, green and cream. The bamboo is laid against a background of delicate glass of incredible transparency. Subtle mottling and streaks of green complete the background. While the leading appears to have been finished in a gold dore patina, the gold has faded on the exterior surface to the shade, revealing a rich reddish brown patina. There is much less fading to the patina on the interior surface of the shade, where much of the original gold dore remains. The shade is signed on the inside lower rim "Tiffany Studios New York 1448-6". The shade is in excellent condition with just a small number of stable heat cracks, and the previously mentioned loss to the gold patina. The shade sits atop the matching Tiffany Studios bamboo form base. The three-socket base stands 20 - 1/2” tall to the top of the shade rest. The base is finished in a rich gold dore. The base is in very good condition with no dents, cracks or visible repairs. There is minimal loss to the gold finish, and some mild oxidation. The three-sockets and their switches appear to be later replacements. There is a screw missing from two of the six “feet” on the underside of the base. The base retains the appropriate bronze bamboo heat cap. The cord and plug have been replaced with a European plug. Base is signed "Tiffany Studios New York 8097".
