This lot contains hundreds of photographs and negatives all related to the US Marine Corps from the WWI era all the way through the China Marines in 1939. There are 9 envelopes, some are titled and read "1916-1919 (Some WWI Pictures)", "Special Pictures", " USMC Nicaragua", "Shanghai 1932-1939". The photos and negatives range from basic to unique content including camp life, ships, aircraft, marine antics, group photos, formations, and much more. There are wonderful photos of General Cates, US Marines observing the fighting between the Japanese and Chinese, early tanks, damaged equipment, and destruction. There are too many photos and negatives for an exact count but there are roughly 500-800 total. CONDITION: Most photos are clear and the negatives are crisp with no tears or folds. Some exhibit wear that is typical of old photos. Overall good-excellent. JD
