L. C. Smith "2E" Grade side by side shotgun made Hunter Arms Company in Fulton, New York in 1902 with a total of about 13,000 of this grade made. Crown Steel barrels with matted rib and roll stamped "Hunter Arms Co. Fulton, N.Y." on rib extension with precious metal cross section rib inlay and bead front sight. Case hardened sidelock action with scroll and bird engraving. Action has double triggers, ejectors, and automatic 2 position safety. Walnut checkered half pistol grip stock with period "Jostam" pad. Walnut checkered splinter forearm with banjo roller latch and ebony forend tip inlay. CONDITION: 80% of an old reblue on barrels with 10% fading case colors on action. Wood has traces of original finish with checkering starting to wear flat and usual hunting use marks and dings. Barrels do not face correctly on action and are slightly loose at hinge. Stock shortened for recoil pad addition probably done in the period. Shootable bores with some light frosting and gun functions correctly. DLM
