Manufactured by Steyr in 1942. Receiver is marked with an eagle above "WaA623" waffenamt above "bnz/ 42" over the chamber. Barrel is marked "11141Ru" along side several "WaA623" waffenamts. Bolt is marked with Steyr "WaA77" waffenamts, and is marked with an oak leaf on the bottom of the bolt handle. Matching numbers include the receiver, rear sight, barrel bands, trigger guard, and floorplate. Laminated stock with cupped buttplate. Stock is likely an arsenal replacement, being numbered to the rifle, but bearing Bruenn's "dot" factory code. Interior or stock shows some writing in pencil. CONDITION: Metal components retain good amounts of their original blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray and brown patinas. Mirror bore, with sharp rifling throughout. Stock shows some scattered handling marks and minor losses, as well as a 3 - 1/2" repair on the right side along the chamber area. A nice example of a World War II production Steyr K98 rifle. -MLW-
