Manufactured in 1911, this early Colt Police Positive revolver features high polish blue finish on the frame, cylinder, and barrel, with high polish nitre blue finish on the screws, trigger, and hammer. Mounted with Colt checkered hard rubber fleur-de-lis grips, which are lightly hand scratched on the interior of both grip panels to match. The 4" barrel features a fixed half-moon blade front sight, with notched rear sights. The left side of the barrel is marked "POLICE/ POSITIVE" followed by "32 COLT CTG.", with Colt's 2 line address across the top. Left side of the receiver is marked with the Rampant Colt with an intertwined "C" motif. Trigger is smooth, with the hammer being checkered. Complete with its original factory cardboard box that is numbered to the gun in pencil on the bottom panel. CONDITION: Metal components retain the vast majority of their original factory high polish blue finish, exhibiting some small areas of wear and freckling. Cylinder and grip straps exhibit the most wear, but still retain the majority of their original finish. Mirror bore, with well defined lands and grooves throughout. Colt checkered hard rubber grips are very good overall, showing some light smoothing to the checkering and few minor handling marks. Original factory cardboard box is in poor condition, showing tears and wear all around, but still retaining its original factory end label on the bottom panel. A very attractive example, of a Colt Police Positive revolver made over a century ago. -MLW-
