Last quarter of the 18th century. The thick walled round barrel is tapered and has a narrow top flat. The flat, hand-forged lock has a detached pan and the frizzen has been sleeved. The center is deeply stamped in block letters "C. KLINE". All of the brass furniture is primitive and is hand filed, including the brass pommel cap and trigger guard with a crude acorn finial. Stocked in plain walnut and complete with a replaced wooden ramrod. CONDITION: Barrel retains a brown finish with some freckling at breech. Lock appears to be in its original flintlock configuration and functions properly, markings excellent. Brass retains a pleasing dark mustard patina. Stock very good showing some hairline age cracks, minor chipping, and scattered marks from use. A very nice and large primitive American made pistol. DMG
