Winchester Model 54 bolt action rifle made in 1925 by Winchester Repeating Arms Company. Blued tapered rifled "Nickel Steel" barrel with integral pinned blade front sight and rear dovetailed Lyman No. 6-W two leaf flip sight with "WINCHESTER MODEL 54 NICKEL STEEL" in front of barrel boss lug and "270 W.C.F." on left side near breech. Blued action with matted factory drilled receiver having only the front bridge drilled. Action has factory added Lyman 48W receiver sight with matching bolt with unbent bolt handle. Blued factory non-detachable trigger guard. Walnut checkered 1 piece pistol grip stock with Schnabel forend and serrated steel buttplate. Comes with factory hook and eye sling swivel bases. CONDITION: 90% fading barrel blue with some wear near muzzle with some light freckling. Floorplate worn on corners to a silvery blue with buttplate worn silver. Wood has old coat of added oil with some handling dings and marks. Small gouge in checkering on right side of wrist. Good shootable bore with good mechanics. A hard to find first year gun with good condition. DLM
