Egyptian Contract FN-49 semi automatic rifle. Made 1950s in Belgium on contract for Egypt. Belgian proofs on the right side of the chamber, with "FABRIQUE NATIONALE D'ARMES DE GUERRE HERSTAL BELGIQUE" on the left side of the receiver. Import marked on the barrel. Belgian applied serial number is "25450". Egyptian applied serial numbers on the receiver and top cover look to match. Crisp Egyptian crest on top of the chamber. Barrel has added muzzle brake. Blade front sight with rear tangent adjustable to 1000 meters (numbers are in Arabic). Original light blued military finish on the metal components. Reproduction stock put on upon importation. Includes a leather sling (not original). CONDITION: Metal retains 85% of its original finish with light wear and handling marks. Wood is excellent. Bore is frosted, but does retain very good rifling. Mechanically excellent. JWA
