Quite possibly the earliest copperplate printing depicting the game of golf we have ever seen. European, showing an aristocrat man holding golf club and caddy holding remailing clubs with a view of Blackheath, outside London England. Along bottom reads " To the Society of Goffers at Blackheath" "Engraving by V. Green Merrotino Engraver to his Majesty and Elector Palatine". Also marked "Printed by L. F. Abbot, 1790". And, "This Plate is with Just Respect Dedicated by their most humble Servant, Lemuel Francis Abbott" Lightly inscribed in lower left corner, "William Innes, Merchant of Lime Street Square of the Society of Goffers, after L.E Abbott with view of Blackheath and the Greenwich Pensioner." For context, William Innes of Lime Street was a London merchant trading with the West Indies and lived from 1719 to 1795. An amazing piece of golfing history ans showing just minor wear and waviness to the framing.
