Nice USMC uniform and ephemera grouping that is ID'D to Robert B. Quance. It appears that Quance was attached to III Corps Signal Battalion, III Amphibious Corps. The group consists of various uniform pieces, paperwork, field gear, and captured items. The lot includes Quance's dress blue uniform that includes his tunic, pants, and gloves. The tunic and pants are both named to Quance, and the pants also have various other names stamped within them. There are also some hats including a forest green visor hat and a khaki overseas hat, both named to Quance. The group also has a few pieces of field gear including the upper portion of an M1941 pack, map case with map inside, and a UNIS marked duffle bag that is named to Quance. There are also scattered pieces of insignia, belts, socks, and a first aid kit that is full of buttons and EGAs. There is a lot of ephemera in this group including pieces of Japanese ephemera that was brought home by Quance as souvenirs, several newspaper clippings, one of which places Quance on Guam, several photos of Marines in gear with .30 machine guns, and various notepads, bibles, and other books. There are also a few shells and trench art pieces. CONDITION: Uniform pieces are in very good condition with no major blemishes. The ephemera exhibits slight rips and wear that is typical of old paper. Gear has wear and blemishes that are expected of used equipment. This is a very nice group ID'D to a WWII Marine with items ranging from overall fair-very good condition. JD
