Lot consists of (A) Early first model 1891 Marlin with side loading port. 22" octagon barrel, chambered in .22 S, L, & L.R. 2/3rd length magazine tube. Plain, straight grain walnut stock and forearm. Rifle style, crescent buttplate. Standard sights. There is a single hole drilled and tapped into the top of the receiver with a filler screw. CONDITION: Excellent with 75-80% original high polish blue remaining on frame. 90-95% original blue on barrel with scattered areas of freckling. Wood is very fine showing moderate dings and dents. Stock has a couple light cracks at the toe. Bore is bright. Action is tight and crisp. (B) Marlin Model 1897. 24" round barrel with full length magazine tube. Chambered in .22 S, L, & L.R. Plain straight grain walnut stock and forearm. Black composite buttplate. CONDITION: Fine overall. Barrel is mostly brown patina blending with traces of original blue. Frame is mostly brown patina with traces of original case color. Bore is fine with moderate abrasion. Action is tight. Wood is excellent with a couple moderate size dents and dings. -MKS-
