Gebruder Merkel Model 47SL side by side double barrel shotgun made in Suhl, East Germany and imported by Champlin Firearms in Enid, Oklahoma circa 1990. Blued "Special Gewehr Steel" with matted raised rib with bead front sight and ejectors. Coin finished scroll engraved sidelock action with sideclips, Greener Style crossbolt, cocking indicators, and automatic safety. Walnut checkered English style straight stock with sling swivel stud and black plastic buttplate. Walnut checkered semi-beavertail forearm with latch release. CONDITION: 90% original barrel blue with sling swivel stud missing. Dulling silver action finish with some light handling stains. 90% original varnish with some light handling marks. Good bores and mechanics. DLM
CORRECTION: Please note that there is a tight crack along left side of stock, approximately 1/3 of the way down. Measures approximately 1-1/4". Forearm has two approximately 1/8" chips above hinge pin. Measurements updated. Both barrels show evidence of pitting.
